- TVC Holdings on the banking aspects of its acquisition of 11 Comfort Inn and Quality Hotels in Ireland for a total investment of €46.5 million, from Choice Hotels Ireland
- British Private-Equity house CapVest Limited on the banking aspects of its acquisition of a stake in excess of 50 per cent in Mater Private Healthcare, one of the leading Irish private hospital operators
- The syndicate of lenders in respect of the €240 million syndicated credit facility provided to the Dunloe Ewert group
- advised Inc using US$348 million senior and second ranking term facilities
- Tynagh Energy Limited in relation to the refinancing of its existing senior debt facilities with a syndicate of lenders
- Riverdeep Group plc on debt financing arrangements relating to its acquisition of leading US publishing house Houghton Mifflin, valuing the combined group in excess of US$4.5 billion
- Barclays Capital in its capacity as lead manager on the €376 million securitisation of Irish residential mortgages by Start Mortgages Limited
- Bank of Ireland and Anglo Irish Bank in connection with the acquisition by Castlethorn Developments of the Pavilions Shopping Centre and an adjoining site, for approximately €575 million. This transaction was reported at the time to be the largest ever single property transaction in Ireland and the largest ever investment transaction in Ireland.
Matheson Ormsby Prentice's structured finance practice is its pride and glory on the banking side, and even with fewer deals around the firm has managed to garner some weighty mandates. William Prentice heads a team that comprises true experts in both industry knowledge and awareness of market trends, with Patrick Molloy, Niall Horgan and Libby Garvey particularly praised.
