Expertise
Yvonne is a member of the Technology and Commercial Contracts Law Group at Matheson Ormsby Prentice. Yvonne has extensive experience in relation to advising on general commercial arrangements and more specifically on IT procurement, software development and integration projects and managed services transactions in the public and private sectors. Yvonne's practice also includes advising a broad range of clients on e-commerce, data protection and privacy related issues.
Yvonne is a member of the executive committee and is the Chairperson of the Legal Working Group of the Irish Internet Association and is a member of the Law Society of Ireland, ITech Law and the Licensing Executives Society. She is also a frequent speaker at industry related conferences and has lectured at the European Rechts Acadamie (Germany) and European Institute of Public Administrators (Luxembourg). Yvonne has also written a number of articles for legal and business related publications on technology and electronic commerce issues, internet security, e-commerce and data protection. She has also hosted a number of workshops and seminars in relation to data protection, ecommerce and contract drafting, analysis and negotiation skills.

Yvonne has advised:
- a multinational telecommunications company in relation to the design and build, operation, maintenance and management of its 3G network
- an Irish based Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) and an international content provider on its data protection obligations in particular its obligations under the proposed data retention Directive 2006/24/EC
- world leading online games provider in relation to its IT systems implementation and software development arrangements and user terms and conditions licensing agreements; also advised on data protection issues in relation to online gaming relevant to this project
- Irish national transport operator on the procurement of various technology supply and service contracts for a variety of projects including ticketing and booking systems, private mobile radio technology, sales and ticketing validation equipment, risk assessment solutions, simulator systems, medical information systems and online reservations and timetable solutions
- the Irish Government in relation to an agreement for the management, operation, and maintenance of the Television Facilities and Digital Recording systems
- the Irish Government in relation to the procurement of digital archiving and video content and related maintenance and support
- a leading provider of diagnostics testing in relation to the public sector tender and contract award and negotiation relating to the National Cervical Screening Programme including in relation to the complex technology and data protection aspects of the transaction
- global medical diagnostics company with regard to the transfer of its sensitive personnel data to a new service provider and a medical imaging company in relation to the transfer of sensitive personal data outside of the EEA
- multinational insurance services provider on a significant strategic offshore software development, implementation, maintenance and support project
- drafting and negotiating contracts for the development, sale, purchase and licensing of hardware, software and IT systems for both suppliers and purchasers of technology solutions
- online tour operators, retailers, pharmaceutical and service industries in relation to collection, processing and transfer of customer personal data and drafting appropriate website terms and conditions and privacy statements
- private and public sector clients on practical compliance with data protection audits carried out by the Data Protection Commissioner's Office
