Expertise
Tony is a partner in the Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency Group and joint head of the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department at Matheson Ormsby Prentice. He advises on all aspects of corporate restructuring and insolvency law matters and represents a number of financial institutions, public and private companies and insolvency office-holders.
Tony is a member of INSOL, R3 and the Insolvency Lawyers Association. He lectures frequently on corporate restructuring and insolvency law matters. He has spoken at conferences organised by many professional bodies and other organisations including the R3 workshop in relation to the European Insolvency Regulation and other insolvency related matters. He has written widely on the subject and is co-author of the Law Society of Ireland's insolvency manual.

Tony has advised:
- in high profile examinerships of Agcert, Fate Park, Golden Discs, Linen Supply of Ireland, Blackshore Group, Aer Arann and McInerney
- financial institutions in relation to complex tax schemes in the hotel and nursing home industries involving the enforcement of security against investors, promoters, operators, including the Carnbeg hotel co-ownership
- on a number of major restructurings including in the financial services industry, Cheyne Finance plc, and Rhinebridge plc and in the examinerships of Agcert plc and Mobileaware and related companies
- on numerous large domestic insolvencies and receiverships including Michael Lynn Solicitor and Proper T Capel Limited, Thomas Byrne Solicitor and Pierse Group
- on numerous cross-border insolvencies and restructurings including those relating to KPNQwest, Exodus Communications and continuing to advise the Official Liquidator of Eurofood, (the Irish subsidiary of the Parmalat Group) in relation to the first reference to the European Court of Justice for an interpretation of the European Insolvency Regulation
- liquidators and creditors in relation to fraudulent and reckless trading proceedings (including PSK Construction Limited (in voluntary liquidation) and Swedex Windows & Doors Limited (in liquidation)) which could result in the directors being held personally liable for some or all of the debts of the company
