Expertise
Ronan is a partner in the Commercial Property Department at Matheson Ormsby Prentice. He advises in the area of commercial leases representing both landlords and tenants. In addition to advising corporate clients on an ongoing basis regarding their property portfolios, he also advises in relation to all aspects of acquisition, development and disposal of commercial property.
Ronan works extensively with multinational companies on the property aspects of their establishment and operations in Ireland. He also advises clients and foreign based lawyers on the property aspects of both national and multi-national corporate transactions.
Ronan advises financial institutions and receivers on property issues relating to review, restructuring and enforcement of distressed assets.
Ronan is a member of the Law Society of Ireland. He lectures for the Irish Property and Facility Management Association on its Higher Certificate in Property and Facility Management course (in association with DIT) and also delivers ad-hoc lectures as part of its continuing professional development program.

Highlights
- Ronan has headed up the significant property aspects of a number of large corporate transactions over the last year, including acting for Credit Suisse in the global acquisition of Fortis funds administration services from ABN Amro, and advising State Street on Irish property aspects of acquiring Bank of Ireland Asset Management.
- Ronan has advised on leases as part of the establishment and expansion of operations in Ireland for clients such as SAP, BSkyB, Gilt Groupe, Engine Yard, Renault and Stream Global Services Inc.
- Ronan headed up the team advising Trinity College Dublin on the development of a new Biosciences Building and mixed office and retail scheme in the heart of Dublin city centre valued in excess of €120 million.
- Ronan advises Hewlett Packard, Axa Insurance, Mercer, Danske Bank and Trinity College Dublin on all aspects of their portfolio management to include redevelopment, new leases, acquisitions, disposals and surrenders.
- Ronan acts for Nando’s Chickenland in its expansion of restaurant premises throughout the Republic of Ireland.
- Ronan acted for Pepsi in its acquisition of a significant industrial premises in the south of Ireland.
