Marie is a partner in the firm's Aviation Finance Group and specialises in asset finance, leasing, structured and cross-border financing and securitisations and advises many of the world's leading financial institutions, investment banks, aircraft financing banks, aircraft owners, aircraft lessors, airlines, financial arrangers, security trustees and investment advisers both located in Ireland and throughout the world.
Marie worked for 18 months in the New York office of Matheson Ormsby Prentice returning to the Dublin office in March 2009.
Marie has a wide range of experience in advising on the structuring of aircraft purchase, financing and leasing transactions and acts for a number of aircraft lessors, financiers and airlines. Marie also has experience in advising on ship and helicopter financing.
Marie also has significant experience in advising and guiding the various parties including lenders, borrowers, lessors and operators through the Cape Town process from advising on technical aspects as regards the scope and application of the Cape Town Convention and mechanical effects such as setting up entities as Transacting User Entities and acting as either Administrator or as Professional User Entity to completing the various registrations with the International Registry. Advising in relation to such matters often involves Marie liaising with FAA counsel and with the Irish Aviation Authority with regard to Cape Town Convention matters including IDERAs. Marie also advises the International Registry on Cape Town Convention matters.
Marie is a tutor on the banking law course with the Law Society of Ireland and has also presented on Capetown Convention related topics and aviation finance related topics in Ireland and the United States including to the Airfinance Subcommittee of the American Bar Association.
Marie is a Member of the American Bar Association, the Irish Network-NYC and the Irish American Bar Association New York.
