Expertise
George is a partner in the firms Corporate and Commercial Department. He advises on corporate finance, cross border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and private equity transactions.
He has advised many leading Irish and international companies, institutions and private equity houses. George has also acted for many companies, debt and equity funders and insolvency practitioners in distressed situations.
George previously worked in the London office of a leading international law firm and has been a partner since 2003.

George has advised:
- Babcock & Brown Capital on its €2.4 billion takeover of eircom plc
- Endesa SA on its €450 million acquisition of 20% of ESB's generating assets (total export capacity in excess of 1,000 MWS) including Tarbert and Great Island
- IAWS on its €2.5 billion merger with Hiestand and on the listing of ARYZTA, the new parent company, on the Irish and Swiss Stock Exchanges
- Allied Irish Banks plc on the €1.3 billion merger of its life assurance subsidiary, Ark Life Assurance, with the Irish life assurance operations of Aviva plc, and on AIB's acquisition of a joint venture interest in the combined entity
- Towercom Holdings on the €155 million acquisition of eircom's radio mast site business
- Linen Supply of Ireland on its successful examinership.
- Bord na Mona in relation to the acquisition of the Edenderry 115MW peak fired power station from E.ON.
- Hibernian Group plc (now Aviva Insurance (Europe) plc), Ireland's largest insurer on its acquisition of 70% of Vivas Group Limited, Ireland's third largest health insurer
- Beacon Medical Group on its 2009 restructuring and investment by UMPC.
- EcoSecurities Group plc in defending a hostile takeover from Guanabara Holdings BV and the subsequent recommended offer from Carbon Acquisition Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of JP Morgan Chase & Co.
- Qualceram Shires plc on its examinership and equity restructuring
- Electra Partners Europe in the €220 million management buy out of BWG Group Limited from Irish Distillers
