Expertise
Cara O’Hagan is a partner in the Commercial Property Department at Matheson Ormsby Prentice. She has over 12 years experience in commercial real estate matters, including: large scale acquisitions and disposals; commercial landlord and tenant matters (retail, office and industrial leases); real estate investment structuring including tax-driven, private healthcare, Enterprise Area/Urban Renewal, co-ownership, joint venture and other syndicated transactions, forward sales, sale and leaseback and rent sharing lease arrangements.
Cara has a wide international client base. She and her team deliver the Irish legal requirements for the EMEA and global real estate divisions of many of our international clients, and they are fast becoming the ‘go to’ real estate team of businesses in the technology, pharmaceutical and gaming industries coming into the Irish market. They have advised several new entrants to Ireland on the acquisition of their office head quarters here.
Cara advises a number of multinational companies in the technology sector in respect of both their office and technical space requirements, and has substantial experience in the acquisition and development of data centres. She also has significant experience in leasing and acquiring high profile, high value assets from bank appointed Receivers and from vendors and landlords whose borrowings have transferred to the National Asset Management Agency.
Cara is a Member of the Law Society of Ireland.

- on the acquisition and management of regional retail shopping centre for private investor for in excess of €35 million
- private investor in respect of forward purchase of flagship office building in Dublin 8
- on the sale of large development site in Dublin for An Post by public tender for in excess of €100 million
- on the acquisition of site and development of data centre in South County Dublin for multi-national IT company
- an investor consortium on the financing of a €167 million private hospital in South Dublin
- on the leasing in excess of 135,000 square feet of office space to PayPal on behalf of Xerox
