Expertise
Anthony practises corporate tax at Matheson Ormsby Prentice and specialises in financial services and structured international transactions (including leasing, insurance and securitisation transactions) and cross border financing. He advises many of the world's leading financial institutions, investment banks, aircraft owners and lessors both in Ireland and internationally.
Anthony has advised a leading US corporation in relation to establishing a bank in Ireland, and he acted for a leading US investment bank in structuring the acquisition of non-performing assets in Korea using joint venture vehicles with third party investors. He has advised a number of European Banks and insurance companies in relation to the establishment of CP & MTN funded securitisation structures. He has also advised some of the world's leading aircraft leasing companies in relation to their trading operations in Ireland.
Anthony is a member of the International Fiscal Association and the European American Tax Institute. He is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and an associate of the Institute of Taxation in Ireland.
Anthony lectures and writes regularly on international tax issues. He is the Irish correspondent to the International Tax Review and is on the editorial board of the Irish Tax Review. Anthony was on the Steering Committee of the Irish Securitisation Forum and chairperson of the legal sub-committee.

Anthony has advised:
- a leading Irish bank in relation to the establishment of a senior secured note programme
- a number of leading European banks in relation to securitising their loan portfolios using a credit default swap structure
- in relation to the establishment of a two-tier structure which created the first real collateralised debt obligation backed by private equity investments
- an Australian based investment group on the setting up of an aircraft leasing business in Ireland
- a leading Irish based aircraft leasing group on the acquisition of a portfolio of aircraft involving the acquisitions of in excess of 20 Irish companies
- in relation to a number of transactions involving the setting up of Irish companies for the purpose of acquiring Life Policies or an interest therein
- in relation to the Irish tax implications on the setting up of Irish Collective Investment Undertakings (CIU) for both the CIU and the investors
- in relation to the tax implications of the setting up of a regulated insurance activity in Ireland
