Tim is a partner in the Corporate and Commercial Department at Matheson Ormsby Prentice. He practises corporate finance law and has extensive experience in M&A, private equity and capital markets transactions.
Representative Transactions
- advised ESB, the leading Irish electricity utility, on the establishment of a €200 million fund to invest in the clean energy sector
- advising Aramark Corporation, a leading US professional services company, on the acquisition of the facilities and property management business of Veris plc for €51 million approximately
- led the team which advised IAWS on its €2.5 billion merger with Hiestand and on the listing of ARYZTA, the new parent company of the combined group, on the Irish and Swiss Stock Exchanges. ARYZTA is a global leader in speciality bakery
- advised LVMH on an investment made by it in edun, the ethical fashion company established by Ali Hewson and Bono
- led the team which advised Australian investment company Babcock & Brown Capital Limited, on the €2.36 billion acquisition of eircom plc by it and the eircom employee ownership trust
- advised ITV plc on the sale of its stake in TV3 as part of a €265 million sale of TV3 to Doughty Hanson
- advised Setanta Sports on a €315 million financing by it to fund its acquisition of Premiership football rights and the rights to the US PGA Golf Tour
- advised Setanta Sports on its disposal of NASN Limited to ESPN Inc.
- advised private clients of Davy on the acquisition of 11 Comfort Inn and Quality Hotels in Ireland for a total investment of €46.5 million, from Choice Hotels Ireland
- advised the shareholders of CBRE Richard Ellis Gunne on the sale of 90 per cent of the company to CBRE Richard Ellis
- advised Swisscom in relation to its approach to eircom plc with regard to the potential acquisition by it of eircom
- advised Hertal Acquisitions on its $376.3 million takeover of Riverdeep Group plc
- advised Nesbitt Acquisitions Limited on its €250 million takeover of Arnotts plc
- advised Siebel Systems on its acquisition of Eontec Limited for a consideration of up to US$130 million
- advised ICC Bank plc on its €349 million acquisition by Bank of Scotland
- advised on the flotation of Power Leisure plc (Paddy Power Bookmakers) on The Irish Stock Exchange and The London Stock Exchange
