Matheson Ormsby Prentice have been very supportive in my career to date. I completed a diploma in financial services law in the Law Society which was fully funded by the firm, and the topics I covered during the course have proved very useful in my work as an investment funds solicitor. The firm provides training aimed specifically at newly qualified solicitors. Matheson Ormsby Prentice also has an excellent professional development plan scheme in place whereby each individual solicitor creates their own tailored professional development plan in conjunction with their relevant partner. This plan sets out annual goals and areas to focus on or improve upon throughout the year, and as a result keeps you very focused on your own professional development and career progression.

While I applied to a number of the large law firms, my decision to join Matheson Ormsby Prentice was based primarily on the welcoming atmosphere in the firm and its reputation for excellence.

Choosing the right firm as a graduate is understandably an important decision. All I can recommend is that you go with your instinct. Choose the firm that feels right for you and matches your own ambition. MOP had the right feel for me.
